Cat Nip is a 1997 Leopard sailing yacht, she is a 4 state room craft (queen size bunks and private heads) built for the charter trade. I bought her in Delaware in 2004.
I have been restoring her for years, and installed many new items including a new custom fiberglass hard top and shortened the rig (from 72 to 63 6) to get under the ICW bridges.
The suit of sails are 4 years old and custom built with a square top to maximize sail area. Motors are Yanmars upgraded from 50 hp to 75 hp with a straight shaft drive (no sail drive). The props are new (plus spare) along with the SS shaft, cutlass bearing, and stuffing box. The windless is new along with the anchor and all chain rode (300). Spares anchors have chain and rode.
Just installed new trampolines this year (ordered from original maker in South Africa). The running rigging is all upgraded to Garhauer with roller bearings and new lines also the roller furling is a Hood just a few years old. Also just installed this year 2 brand new diesel tanks.
I have adjusted the salon table to slide in and out to create more room and
added new cushions. Aft state rooms have improved mattress and installed new
SS hatches (4) all around. Have upgraded electronics and swapped out cabin
lights with LED lights.
The interior accommodations are phenomenal. There's room for everyone on the large "U" shaped settee with oval table. The galley is very well appointed, with a propane stove with oven, double sinks, 12 volt fridge/freezer, microwave and lots of storage space. The large windows and opening ports provide ample light and ventilation.
The Staterooms Catnip has four staterooms, each with its own private head. There is ample storage for clothing and a queen size bed with improved mattresses and two more inches of memory foam.
The cockpit is very large with plenty of headroom under the bimini. All electronics have been upgraded and all lights converted to LEDs throughout the boat.
The captains seat backrest has two positions allowing the chair to face
forward while steering
Behind the cockpit are the davits for the aluminum dinghy.
The Deck has new trampolines, large draining lockers, bow seats and an electric windlass.
The Engines have been upgraded to 75hp Yanmar Turbo Diesels with only 1400 hours. The engine compartments are clean and there is plenty of room for servicing the engines.
